What Is the Austrian Vignette?
The Austrian motorway vignette is a mandatory time-based toll permit for all motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes using Austrian motorways (Autobahn) and expressways (Schnellstrasse). Administered by ASFINAG, it grants unlimited access to the covered network for the duration of its validity.
For Croatian drivers, Austria is a neighbouring country accessible via Slovenia. The most common entry point is the Karawanken tunnel (A11), which itself requires an additional toll beyond the vignette. The digital vignette is strongly recommended for advance purchase before leaving Croatia.
